I would agree this was an incredibly insightful article. The questions asked must have been inspired by a very deep intellectual thought process.

I would love to see more articles about women in gaming. The only uncomfortable thing I encounter at Cons are the guys who act like they've just crawled out of their mother's basements and are seeing boobs for the very first time. It can be really unsettling.

Hoo..Tell me about it. It is nice to be one of the only relatively well adjusted people in the room, Though.
One problem about girl gamers is that there are like..4. Seriously, Thats all I have met.
Sometimes when I talk to girls I just met I ask if they are into videogames, Mainly just because I don't care what they think. Occasionally I will get the answer "Oh! I'm a huge videogame player!" That is where I get optimistic and cautiously ask what games they like, here is a common answer. "Do you like Myst? Myst is great! Mario is okay too."
At that point I kind of trail off and talk about something else.
There are two reasons that I think more girl (or Grrrl, In some circles) gamers do not exist.
1. Ignorant marketing in the videogame industry, Mainly by the american company's. (Laura croft is a prime example.)
2. Traditionally videogames have always been connected to males and the stereotype is still going strong, Fortunately there are more and more people getting into Videogames as they become more and more mainstream (If you like it or not).
Still, I am much to far addicted to my videogame habit to ever date someone who does not like videogames themselves..There would be some really awkward dates. ("The arcade has Metal Slug 3! Quick, follow me!")
Thank god I found this site, there is hope to be had.
