Firefly definitely is better than BSG on characterization, but it's so short... I only started watching BSG because of the high reviews, but am disappointed... but since I started it, I can't stop (seems like a waste, no?).

And the last thing the world needs is another MMO. (The second to last is yet another religion...)

Shiny? I don't think so...

I too think Firefly is the best thing since sliced proverbial (BSG a close second), so much so that I used it as the codename (alas, nothing else) for a big game project I'm working on. Not to mention drawing inspiration from it for a number of other game and writing projects.

But an MMO? I can't see it, and I'm not sure I want to! From a business perspective, wouldn't you want your MMO to have a larger audience, not a small niche, no matter how dedicated they are...

And in a world where the characters are by far the strongest element, what good is drowning them out with hundreds or thousands of gamers who cannot or will not even type properly, yet alone come up with catchy plots and snappy dialogue.

I was pondering just a few days ago what would be a deserving format for a Firefly game. Surely it would have to be something somewhat original, as the IP deserves that much. The best I can think of so far would be a cross between an RPG and an FPS - everything fast-paced, with a suitable balance of storyline, action and humour. And not one ounce of mining!

I'm tracking further news on this at http://fireflymmo.com/ - I'm optimistic about it so far, based on the responses and comments I've seen from Multiverse.
