Pretty In Pink
I don’t know why, but this winter, I am positively addicted to the color pink. Everything I gravitate too is pink, and I don’t just mean clothing either! There must some profound meaning behind this, right? Is it that pink is what the designers are showing this season and it just happens to be everywhere? That wouldn’t explain my attraction to it and besides; I’ve barely had time to glance through my bible, Vogue. A couple of months ago, I purchased a game *ahem* boy advance in what they claim is fuchsia. It appears to be pink and I feel resentful they don’t call it pink. Did my fascination start with Bitch magazine’s yummy pink marshmallow peeps cover titled the pink issue? Perhaps, but I think the allure goes deeper. I think it has to do with the glowing feeling I get when I look at pink. I imagine the pink cheeks on a baby. I picture my wind kissed face on a brisk winter’s day. I look at the fact that pink is a good color on me. I am drawn to most shades of pink these days, especially lighter shades. I have never thought of myself as a pastel kind of person, but now, the softer the better. Recent procurements of pink include a scarf, two sweaters, and a fleece pullover, a Hello Kitty alarm clock & watch. These are just to name a few. I now buy pink for others too. I suppose I want to spread the sweet-tempered amiable feeling I get from just being around pink.

Hi Liz... i liked your piece but your friend looks hot, can you hook me up? Posted by: Tony on December 13, 2002 06:59 PMI also am finding myself in a pink addiction this year. I have always loved the color, but in the last few months I have been storing up with pink items. Posted by: anne on December 13, 2002 07:42 PMHuh. I wish I had such convictions for my Orange fetish. I guess I just think it looks cool :) And not that I'm proud of it or anything, but my GBA is that see-through pink, as well. It was a gift, and it's the last one they had in stock at the time, I've been told. Posted by: Bowler on December 13, 2002 10:07 PMI find pink offensive to me....im male. I dont like pink. Its degrading color off of red. Its like having watered down lemonade. Red is and will be better than pink. Also pink is a "light" color to me. I prefer "darker" colors like violet, indigo, dark red, dark anything. It may be just me...but i dont like pink. Posted by: Sorc on December 15, 2002 06:39 PMI've found myself drawn to pink of late, but orange is, has been, and will always be my favorite. orange is the new pink! Posted by: Allison_axe on December 20, 2002 12:02 AMi am a green person. i have a green backpack i've worn for four years, my walls are a pastel green. hell, i have a friend who legally changed his name to El Verde who wears green obsessively. but lately i have gotten more into pastels and discovering the properties of colors like pink mainly because of my renewed interest in her. I am a pink girl. I'm talking all pink all the time. I have cool light pink hair and I wear pink clothes and make-up. I made the decision right after my birthday in November. I think it is really important to wear and be near our favorite colors. It really improves the quality of life. For me, I had alot of pink things, then other people started noticing I almost always had on pink. It became so bad that whenever I did not have on pink people would ask where the pink was. So now I made everything I own it. I am very happy this way. Good luck to all of you in your favorite colors. Posted by: Seven on January 7, 2003 10:39 PMWhat do you think of the new pink m&m's? Posted by: Snoodmaster on January 26, 2003 10:10 PMThere are pink M&M's? Weeeeeeeeeeee Posted by: Liz on January 27, 2003 04:36 AMOh I love Pink. It makes me happy.
