Your Game Collection
Gaming can lead to obsession. Nowhere is this more evident then in the hardware and software assembled by dedicated gamers. Each person's collection reflects their tastes. I solicited game collection photos; one person sent me this picture of some extensive machines and software: Unfortunately, the source for that image isn't attached to the copy I have. Here's the details from Derek who submitted it. I got the image fromI'm going to dig out my camera one of these days, pose all my machines and consoles, and take a picture. Do you have a console/game collection to share here? Posted by justin at January 23, 2003 01:39 PM | TrackBack Comments
I'll see if I can get some pics of my buddy Tim's basement. He probably has about ten times the stuff in this picture. I'd say I wish I was exaggerating, but I don't wish I was exaggerating. It's like the world's greatest arcade down there. My collection, however, pales by comparison to anyone's setup. Posted by: Bowler on January 23, 2003 04:18 PMHey where is your Colecovision and Turbo Grafx-16? You need to be down with Bonk in order to be L337 Posted by: 8bitjoystick.com on January 24, 2003 04:13 PMUhh it that a Green vibrator over by the playstation and N64 games? Posted by: 8bitjoystick.com on January 24, 2003 04:15 PMI'm quite sure that's a candle. My question, though, is: what's that big Final Fantasy box thing? Stuff like this makes me regret my juvenile, not-knowing-any-better, mistake of selling my NES a decade ago. I used to have Robbie too. And one of them all gray light guns, not one of those pansy orange ones! *sigh* I'd take some pictures of my smaller collection, but I'm in the middle of a move right now... Posted by: nowak on January 24, 2003 08:00 PMYa, I get a kick out of seeing people's gaming setups also. Threads like this loaded with pics pop up regularly on gaming forums (I think on page 16 someone reposted all the pictures so they're all together). It's fun to browse through stuff like that. Posted by: ZYirAH on January 25, 2003 12:23 PMthe final fantasy box thing *looks* like the box to a wonderswan console, but i think the ff game that came with it was based on(or is) ff1 *shrugs* Posted by: kus on January 25, 2003 03:40 PMI once saw the original Playstation sold packaged with FF7 in a box like that, perhaps that's something similar? Posted by: Tim on January 26, 2003 05:33 AMIt's FF8 f00lz! It's got Squall on teh front in his classic pose. Posted by: Trunks on January 26, 2003 04:53 PMI know it's FF8. But the box is too big to be JUST the game. Posted by: nowak on January 26, 2003 09:21 PM;___; i think the FF8 box is one of those imports that had everything and the game. probably the soundtrack, books, gunblade, Squall's excessive emotional baggage. you know, things like that. looking at that picture makes me wonder how many hours of gaming doug has under his belt. he is truly a gamer's gamer. Posted by: jon on January 28, 2003 10:42 PMWhat! No computer? So its nothing like that. The only thing i have to say is how often does anyone with a collection like that play all the systems let alone all of the games. I have enough problems and i got like 50-75 games on like 6 systems. I am not Trying to put anyone donw on this because i do think its quite wicked. Wait a sec another quetion i have if anyone evertalks to thie person or for those of you who do have something like this. How much of it was payed for by your parents. I am proud to say i hand picked and worked and payed for all of mine(except for the Commadore 64 which was kinda um shitty). Anyway love the pic.
