Get Paid for Gaming

... if you're a girl, that is. UbiSoft is looking for female gamers. Check out the Craigslist posting. Basically you'll be a gamer ambassador - playing videogames and going to represent the company at trade shows. Booth babe? But at least you're a real gamer, right? As Kat put it, "I 'figure if they want to pay me money to play games from home, then so be it." Word. Sounds like a dream job for someone! Check it out.

Boy, Ubi has been growing in stature with me, but...pardon my French...this f$%#ing rules.

I am heavily in favor of more women playing more games so that we get fewer Barbie Fashion Designer products.

Rep-RA-ZENT, ladies. We're expecting big things from you in the next century.

I don't think the ad says anything about Trade Shows. They just mention online gaming and playing at competitions. Still a little booth babish I guess, but unless the ad is misleading, most of the work is done from your home where no one can even see you.

Posted by: kat on June 3, 2004 10:58 AM

it does say "make public appearances" but you're right, that doesn't necessarily mean trade shows...

Posted by: jane on June 3, 2004 11:08 AM

I would think it's confined to the home/online spheres, as I doubt very much they'd hire anybody in a "booth babe" capacity without checking their appearance first.

Posted by: BrainFromArous on June 3, 2004 11:11 AM

yeah, the "public appearances" is vague.

Posted by: kat on June 3, 2004 02:55 PM

they *will* be checking appearances, at least informally, in the interview process. so who knows.

Man there is such a huge lack of female gamers that we someone needs to pay for them to come out of the wood work.

Posted by: JC on June 4, 2004 06:24 PM

LACK of female gamers (see above)? Am I in a bizarro world comment section? That statement might have been accurate, maybe, I dunno...fifteen years ago.

Posted by: drew on June 5, 2004 09:15 AM

I agree with Drew, the aforementioned comment is as well-thought out as saying "Man, there's such a huge lack of male postmen we have to pay them to deliver packages!"

That's such a cool idea!
