Frantically Pushing Square
The PSP apprently has a design But with the frustrating response of the Square button, developers have a whole new range of gameplay opportunities. Go fishing! Push Square when you see a fish, and maybe you'll get lucky. What a great way to equalize skill levels, by introducing the element of chance. Look for a lot of cramped thumbs coming your way. My favorite part was the way Sony basically played it off. In fact, if I remember correctly, Kutaragi said something along the lines of the PSP being one of the most beautiful objects ever created. Now, the system is extremely attractive. I'm excited to own one. But I'm seeing a little bit of the ol' hubris. If we've seen anything in the game industry (cough, Nintendo), overwhelming pride and an inability to admit fault can be an early sign of upcoming failures.
