Rez Trance Vibrator: Redux
The cleverly named Slashdong.org has a poster who has come up with a way to mod an Xbox controller with a vibrator, essentially by tapping the power supply for the controller vibrator and shunting it into the battery pack of an actual vibrator. Perhaps not quite as sleek as the authentic Rez Trance Vibrator, but if you don't have a PS2, and you feel comfortable with a soldering iron, hey why not? Just wanted to say thanks for the link! The project was partially motivated by your Rez article way back when, so I was hoping you'd see it. :) And there will hopefully be a PS2 and gamecube version up tonight. ;) Posted by: qdot on February 24, 2005 11:46 AM
yeah, yeah, yeah. so when is someone going to come up with the xbox mod "for the discerning gentleman"? that already sounds a bit nasty. Posted by: eric on February 24, 2005 01:01 PM
Does this mean that we're about to see sales of XBoxes restricted in Kentucky? ;-) Posted by: Yermum on February 24, 2005 02:49 PM
Or, er, make that Alabama. Posted by: Yermum on February 24, 2005 02:50 PM
Eric: This mod works for guys toys too. As long as it takes batteries of some kind and doesn't draw over 5v @ 200mA, it'll work. Unfortunatly, I'm realizing I don't actually *have* any guys toys to take pictures with. Back to ye old pokey toys shop. Posted by: qdot on February 24, 2005 04:44 PM
I'm not sure if anybody eles saw this, but when I read the kentucky.com vibrator-ban article, it had an advertisement for herpes meds with a woman looking thoughtfully towards the article. The caption reads "I thought the redness, bumps and genital irritation were from shaving. Now I'm not so sure". Just wanted to share that. Posted by: Casey on February 24, 2005 08:56 PM
