File Under Mad Skillz

You may have heard of rocket jumping in Quake before. These guys in the Tricking iT video make plain old rocket jumping seem so...mundane.

I can't decide what I'm most blown away by: the tricks, or the Matrix style editing/AfterFX/music. I'm almost hoping this is done through frame-by-frame emulation, because I'm not sure I want to live in a world where someone can be this much better at Quake3 than me. Granted, they've got god mode on, but still.

Hrm, copyright date at the end says this is from 2004, but I've never seen it before.

Do not watch this on google. Shaolin Productions produces some of the best frag and trick jumping videos ever. The tricking iT2 video above is available in a better format from places like ownage.com. They've integrated up to 6 audio tracks in the video, and if you use a player like mplayer classic, you can choose which audio track to listen to (all of them synced to the video). Plus the quality on google is atrocious. Shaolin produces some very high quality (although extremely large with regards to file size) videos.

The iT2 video is old. For a newer team trickjumping video, check out Unity and another excellent video is Get Quaked 3 (frag video).

Oops. Sorry.

I'm not sure what's so great about that video. It's basically the same three tricks over and over (for 20 minutes), with some slick editing and special effects which makes me think they probably recorded a demo and then fine-tuned it anyway.

hrm, just doing some late night surfing and this is the first time i've seen this 'tricking it' vid anywhere. i'm dubious of whether it's humanly possible to rocket jump like that (wtf anyone?!) but i must say, added w/ the music i can say i was getting goosebumps often! nice find!
