Chocolate > Kissing

From the BBC, more news stories about romance:

Chocolate caused a more intense and longer lasting "buzz" than kissing, and doubled volunteers' heart rates.

Dr Lewis said: "There is no doubt that chocolate beats kissing hands down when it comes to providing a long-lasting body and brain buzz.

"A buzz that, in many cases, lasted four times as long as the most passionate kiss."

I love chocolate and all, but really, those people clearly don't know how to kiss.

Seconded. I'm going to file this with all of the chumps who claim X (surfing, skydiving, skiing, etc.) is "better than sex."

I would echo your sentiments. They are definitely doing something wrong if they feel that way. I'm guessing that Dr. Lewis is lonely and in need of a Bowflex!!

It's not certain that the study took a wide enough sampling either.

Who was kissing who? And where were they kissing them (location-wise - get your mind out of the gutter!).

Also of importance, what kind of chocolate was being used? British chocolate as a whole is FAR better than the crap passed off as chocolate here in the US. Same goes for Canadian chocolate.

As for how the kissing compares, well, I married a Canadian girl before moving here, so someone else will need to comment :-)

well, give them a break - this was a study conducted in Britain after all! would the results be different if the same study were conducted in france (where, i would submit, both chocolate and kissing are generally better than in great britain.)

You also need to take the observer effect into account: I don't know about the rest of you, but it's a little hard for me to get "in the mood" while a bunch of scientists in white labcoats are watching and I've got electrodes attached to my head. Kinda kills the romance buzz, y'know?

Haha. Yea, chocolate's got nothin' on kisses. My girlfriend is quite the type who likes her physical contact. It's funny when the girl in the relationship is the one who's always initiating physical stuff...

Anyways, point is, I completely agree with you--a truly good kiss beats chocolate any day of the week.
