Echochrome - the Escher Game

Wow! This looks neat.

I have a special affection for MC Escher, as many geekish/artistic types do, and also because my dad had bought prints of Escher's when I was a kid, so I grew up with these in my bedroom and used to stare at them for hours. I also had a book of his prints - I think that was probably a gift from my father as well. I used to stare at the visual puzzles for hours trying to make sense of their recursive logic. Great stuff. And well-executed technique, too. I used to imagine what it would be like to actually move around in a space like this:

And now, with games, we sort of can!

According to an interview with Phil Harrison over at GameInformer (http://www.gameinformer.com/News/Story/200707/N07.0719.1908.25222.htm?Page=3) there's going to be a 'user-created component' to the game. I assume they mean the PSN version. My understanding is that it's going to be a PSN game for the PS3 and a UMD game for the PSP.

It really does look neat, doesn't it?

Despite Sony showing off Killzone 2 (which did manage to impress me) - Echochrome is what I loved from Sony's press conference. I love the aesthetics of the game ! I can't wait to play it.
